I have long wondered why there is such a socially and culturally accepted and connection between women and nature. It is like Christianity or the Patriarchy in that it is so subtly ingrained in our language and the way we think and express ourselves that it is difficult to point out. It is both everywhere and subliminally engrained enough to make it difficult to point out unless you are hyper aware of it.
It has been my experience that men are the conquerors and controllers of nature and women are nature itself, in true with its flows, we are delicate like flowers but also carry with us that element of the sublime, beautiful and destructive, we bring life and nurture its growth, our ageing and decay is more culturally prominent. The list could go on. Women are gardeners and men are specimen collectors. As an extension of being nature we are wild but tameable, collectible, brought to heel.
Women are witches, healers, Godesses, Mother Nature in the form of Gaia, Stormy and fragile, but men are the great civilisers.
