I was recently targeted with an advert for Dior with feminist slogans splashed all over it. It may be an obvious point but the rich really will use anything to latch on and make a bit more money. They take that which its most close to your heart, that which you are most passionate about, and use it in a really insidious way to wheedle their way into an issue. It is dirty tactics. They do not actually care. They don’t even understand the issues, that is certainly clear.

There are throw away fast fashion feminist slogan t shirts so that we can instagram ourselves in support of that which is so clearly likeable and of the minuet. You can get ‘art’ that purports to be about feminist issues when really it is vapid and just jumping on the bandwagon. You can make potent content to get more subscribers.

We are forever dulling the edges of things, making them meaningless, throw away, empty. Getting everything clogged up with over production with no heart, no passion, just consumption, just more content and none of it helps, none of it is real, it does not connect with real people, it is not actionable, just buyable. You cannot buy your way into supporting a cause.

Yay Feminism, buy Dior!! It is so far from the real, lived, female experience.
